Play · AI · Play.
AI adoption sessions that use structural play to help participants experience the difference between a generic AI prompt and a rich, context-driven one — firsthand.
The core idea
Learning through play improves retention.
By weaving play activities between structural thinking exercises, participants build a deep, multi-perspective understanding of a real problem — and then watch AI give them a dramatically better response because of it.
The contrast between the first prompt and the second is where the learning lives. Once a team has felt the difference, they don't go back.
How the session works
Six moves. One visible shift in output.
Play
The session opens with a fun, energising game. No AI yet. The goal is to loosen thinking and get the group present.
First AI prompt
Participants are given a problem statement and asked to prompt AI the way they normally would. This is the baseline — a generic response.
Play + Structured thinking
Short games are woven between a series of structured thinking exercises. Each exercise uses a different method — drawn from frameworks like SWOT analysis, TQM principles, 360 Thinking, dyslexic thinking, and others — chosen based on the problem statement at hand.
Notes build up
After each thinking exercise, participants capture what came up. Different methods surface different kinds of insight: analytical, emotional, creative, critical. By the end, there's a rich, multi-layered set of observations.
Combine and re-prompt
All of that context gets fed back into AI. Participants run their original prompt again — this time with everything they've uncovered included.
The reveal
The second AI response is noticeably different: more specific, more relevant, more useful. Participants see the direct impact of structured thinking on AI output. That contrast is the learning.
The reveal isn't a slide. It's what AI gives back, in front of everyone.
Why it works
Structured thinking changes what AI gives you.
The best AI prompt isn't a clever line. It's a team that has actually thought.
Play keeps the energy up.
Games between exercises prevent cognitive fatigue and keep the room genuinely engaged.
Methods fit the problem.
Thinking frameworks are selected to fit your problem — not slotted into a fixed formula.
Different lenses, deeper insight.
SWOT, 360 Thinking, TQM, dyslexic thinking and more surface perspectives a straight prompt-writing exercise never would.
Before/after AI comparison.
The contrast between the baseline prompt and the context-rich re-prompt makes the value tangible and memorable.
Retention through play.
Play-based learning research consistently shows higher retention when play is integrated with structured learning.
